Abstract —Ever Since the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Defined Supply Chain Management and the Council of Logistics Management (CLM) adopted the definition of logistics in 1984, the integration of a supply chain processes or activities became obligatory definition. Without trust and the willingness to collaborate, it is impossible to achieve aligned, consistent decision-making and actions required for the integrated supply chain.Organization and People, which structures include reporting structures, team membership, and roles and responsibilities and, as such, largely shape the ways people will interact and relate to each other in an enterprise. Many firms have extended their chain from upstream and downstream to include other vendors, agents of vendor, and customers. Blume solutions minimize risk, decrease complexity and reduce costs for the entire supply chain ecosystem. An ongoing, chronic shortage of long-haul drivers is creating major issues with trucking capacity, leading to delays when transporting goods across countries. The goal is to improve response time, production time, and reduce costs and waste. The right infrastructure, in terms of technology, people, control systems, relationships, policies and procedures are critical in facilitating alignment and linkage. Our research identified four critical supply chain strategy areas:1. The key issue across these processes is linkage-- facilitating the communication and information sharing necessary for making decisions that are consistent and focused on meeting customer expectations. Insourcing/Outsourcing Strategy, which goes to the heart of the firm's value proposition--what is it that the firm does better than anyone else--to create value for the customer. Linkage ensures that the information necessary for decision-making is available, and that different functions and entities in the supply chain are working with the same data as decisions are made.3. Develop the capabilities and analytic tools required to make effective decisions in an increasingly complex and risky environment.12. An integration may be done tightly through a merger with another firm in the supply chain, or The pressures on the role of the truck driver is making it a less attractive profession, and logistics providers are finding it more difficult to attract and retain the right people. Supply chain integration is a close alignment and coordination within a supply chain, often with the use of shared management information systems. Equally important, however, are the processes and procedures that encourage and facilitate the use of that data for effective decision-making.Trust, which is at the heart of breaking down the functional and organizational barriers that impede true integration. Product designs largely influence manufacturing efficiencies, distribution system requirements and customer service levels. Political circumstances and protectionism are introducing tariffs across trade routes that results in additional fees, delays and increased customs processing time. This creates additional pressures as ships, trucks and trains need to wait to load, unload and transfer products. Volatility and complexity don’t just create problems at a specific point in the supply chain, instead the impact can ripple throughout the entire infrastructure. Products must meet the quality requirements demanded by consumers. Challenge #1: Collaboration across supply and partner networks. Traditional retailers and wholesalers need large storage locations close to major metropolitan areas, combined with accurate inventory control to ensure product availability. Some features of the site may not work correctly. These enablers do not by themselves make alignment and linkage happen, but if they are not in place, alignment and linkage will suffer. Finally, chapter five will give the conclusions of this research, discussion and recommendation. The systems help ensure data availability, accuracy and timeliness. February 11, 2019. These are endemic problems in the supply chain, and it’s almost impossible to resolve them on a local or organizational level. There are also numerous cases of failures and breakdowns in integration.
